I had the opportunity to attend the recent Paperific Show at the Royal Showgrounds in Ascot Vale and naturally founds several things to tempt me into purchasing. I now have a potential shadow box for my Maree Massey miniature dolls and some serviette glue for playing nice with serviettes( of all things!) and some structure paste for building a 3D effect on the work. It was not a large show but still I did several nice "make and takes" and of all things met up with a dollmaking friend I'd not seen in 5 years, we had a great catch up over coffee and I found it hard to believe it had been so long. All in all a nice day which culminated with a delicious dinner at Vicolo Restaurant and Risotto Bar in Moonee Ponds with my dear friend Robbie Stockfeld.

I hope you and yours had a lovely Christmas and are happily planning to welcome the New Year. I have just returned from celebrations in Cobram with 7 assorted children ,8 assorted grandchildren ,a couple of in-laws and a dog. It was busy and lots of fun even though it can get quite noisy.

Is there any gift quite like a kitten, and this was her sisters kitten, she is just "kitty sitting"

and yes there is pool to go with the board , even though it was quite cold on Christmas day , they went in anyway, came out shivering and loved it. do you remember being that young?

I was back to work today but have tomorrow off and hope to have more dollies and stuff to share as I've been into the storage "locker"

Welcome to Soft & Pretty , my name is Sonja and for over thirty years I have been making (and sharing techniques for) porcelain and cloth dolls, mohair bears and textile handcrafts through classes and commissions. Having relocated to Melbourne from Cobram where my teaching studio was established, I find I no longer have the display or storage facilities I was accustomed to and am having a big " rationalization", and for you that means great bargains.

I'll be sharing with you many of my award winning quality modern and antique reproduction porcelain dolls, handmade mohair bears, cloth dolls , handcrafts, dollmaking, bearmaking and dressmaking supplies. Today you can meet the 9" sleeping baby in hand-knitted layette and the beautiful K*R 126 baby also in beautiful hand-knitted dress and bonnet.
